About the role:

A Senior Leadership position, the role of Production Director will ensure effective leadership of our GSP Print facility which is part of the JCDecaux Australia group. Responsible for printing all the Large Format, Small Format/Street Furniture and Transit printing for JCDecaux and some external customer printing.

Leading the Printing facility and the Production function, it will see you accountable for Production revenue as well as the oversight and leadership of a local management group, leading day to day operations of the plant. 

 

A Day in the Life:

Whilst there’s no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:

  • Responsible for production revenue including yield management
  • Managing key external relationships vendors and industry, including supplier partners & achieving beneficial commercial arrangements
  • Work with the procurement function to explore technological & engineering solutions to improve sustainability and financial outcomes
  • Drive efficiencies in the production pipeline to ensure continual improvement on key metrics.
  • Provide a safe workplace and ensure the safety of employees, contractors, suppliers, visitors, and public is monitored and continuously improved upon.
  • Sound knowledge of all assets, manufacturers, and performance specifications/expectations
  • Leads by example, championing the capability, value and professionalism of GSP, acting as a trusted SME to the business.
  • Manage, coach and mentor staff to build productive and inclusive teams
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement

 

About You:

This role requires an experienced people leader with commercial experience gained in either printing (preferred), operations or manufacturing. You will have strong interpersonal skills, sound technical knowledge and an ability to effectively communicate to a diverse range of staff, contractors, and internal and external stakeholders. A knowledge of Large Format printing equipment and substrates is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of improvement methodologies (six sigma/Kaizen) to implement improvement initiatives
  • Sound HR / IR knowledge
  • Project Management skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Drivers Licence
